@lonewoolf Exactly! They did that to me as well with a money order. Unfortunately, too many laws are designed to protect banks, and not enough to protect consumers, so this kind of arbitrary practice can occur if you're dealing with a morally loose bank like Woodlands. Good news is, I'm still with Schwab and they've never been a problem...depositing checks by mail is a bit annoying but they're apparently adding an iPod app to take a picture and deposit that way. Can you see Woodlands doing that? Didn't think so.

Avoid Woodlands, they are ridiculous. I deposited a bank check...bought and paid for with cash, accepted anywhere in the world as cash, but Woodlands put a 10 business day hold on the check, holding up my cash for two weeks. Absurd policy !!!!!

You are entitled to your opinion. All I asked from Woodlands is that 1) they explain why they handled the same situation (a card replacement) totally differently for myself and my wife, even though both replacements were the result of the same Hannaford breach. Had they handled the replacement of potentially compromised cards in a professional manner, their actions would have not resulted in me being on vacation and unable to rent a car. If you are so convinced that Mr. Callia is a saint, and you believe I am wasting my time 'bashing' him, please provide an example of when a problem developed and how he helped you resolve it, as a counter-example to mine. Otherwise, you are the one bashing someone without any reason to stand behind.

Please also note that I had cancelled my account, and was told Mr. Callia was calling to see why I had left the company. That is why I was so surprised that Mr. Callia insisted on insulting me repeatedly and telling me I was wrong to ask for a written policy of how Woodlands handles card replacements. I have found that, when people at financial institutions cannot provide written policy to back up their statements, they probably do not have such a policy and are therefore prone to things like cancelling a card without warning for one person while pre-sending a replacement to the other customer on the same account.

If Mr. Callia was a professional, he would've at least apologized for severely affecting my wife and my vacation, not tried to explain why his bank had no set policies for replacing debit cards and maintaining that was ok. When he personally insulted me over the phone even though I had taken the time to answer his call (once again, I had cancelled the account), I had had enough. I'm glad he's been nice to you in the past, and I hope Woodlands works for you as a bank. I need something better, and in the almost three years since I left Woodlands, I've had nothing but the highest quality personal service from Charles Schwab bank, despite their closest branch being in Manchester.

I think this is ridiculous! I have been a member of Woodlands Credit Union for many, many years and have never had a problem. If anything, Woodlands Credit Union has gone above and beyond to make sure there is no problems. And I can reassure anyone that reads this, that if a problem occurred Woodlands Credit Union would handle it professionally and efficiently. I have spoken with the CEO, Mr. Collia, many times and he is a wonderful man. Just because you had an unpleasant experience and expected so much in return, doesn't mean you need to criticize people and make them look awful. Use your time more wisely rather than bashing people on the internet. As you would say... "Have a nice day!"
