Batters hit Brett Myers, Brett Myers hits his wife

Brett Myers of the Phillies shows off the right hook that made him famous Friday night.

Perennial disappointment Brett Myers, the Philadelphia Phillies‘ up-and-coming young pitcher, who’s more famous for giving ‘em up then for stepping up, was arraigned on charges of assault and battery by Boston Police yesterday, after the couple left a local bar. The Boston Globe has covered the incident in detail here.

Witnesses described the event as ‘awful,’ especially since Brett is 6′ 4″ and weighs 240 lbs., and his wife/victim was reported as 5′ 4″, 120lbs. Even sadder, Brett’s wife Kim, after getting smacked on the street in public, loyally returned to the Boston Police Department’s holding area to spring her husband on $200 bail.

Apparently, a woman literally half his size is the only thing Myers can beat right about now.
