Try going to Applications->Utilities, and choosing Disk Utility. The run a Repair Permissions on your hard drive. This usually fixes most Mac problems like what you're describing. You can also look in Applications-> Microsoft Office 2008 for the Microsoft Update Tool and try to update Office, if it is not the latest version. If neither of these things work, I'd recommend backing up and re-imaging the machine, or maybe Googling "manual uninstall microsoft office 2008 mac." Good luck!

Word 2008 for Mac crashing whenever I do anything like cut & paste, delete, etc. Has anyone had this problem? Is there a patch or something? I am working on my book. I have a deadline and this thing is not helping. So frustrating!

Thanks in advance for any help.

Best,
