A glass flower-filled boat drifts amongst glass icebergs at the Dale Chihuly exhibit at Fairchild Tropical Gardens in Miami.
During my recent trip to Florida, I was fortunate enough to visit the FairchildTropical Gardens during their Chihuly exhibit. For those who don’t know him, Chihuly is a iconoclastic artist whose main media are glass and woodcutting. At Fairchild, however, Chihuly has created a truly stunning display: hand-blown glasssculptures of exquisite detail and magnitude, representing the world of nature and flowers. Throughout the Gardens, Chihuly has placed everything from icebergs in the ponds to reeds amongst a desert cactus scene, all constructed entirely from glass. There’s not much more to say about it, though, so I’ll let the pictures do the talking (click here to view them).
