So, I’m sure many of you are wondering about the meaning of the title ‘Alcibiades Would Never Blog.’
Who am I kidding, there’s no one reading this.
Anyway, for those of you who don’t already know and love him, Alcibiades was an Athenian back in the day, who dedicated his life to proving the innate futility of war by playing both sides (multiple times) during the Peloponnesian War. This selfless man also had time to engage in the occasional reported act of juvenile violence (knocking the ‘members’ off statues of Hermes)
whilst still managing to be in the employ of both Athens and Sparta and Athens and, then, Sparta….and so on. He could do it, because he was good at what he did. But he would never blog about it.
