Turning off User Account Control to install McAfee on Vista

12:44 pm McAfee Issues, PC Tips

In a recent post I described how to install ePO and VirusScan 8.5i on a machine running Windows Vista. One of the steps involves shutting off the User Account Control that is turned on in Vista by default. I mention quickly how to do it in the article, but Alan over at Users Suck! has done a top-notch job of creating a walkthrough, complete with pretty pictures.

As a side note, once you’ve got ePO on there, you can re-enable User Account Control. But why would you want to?

disable user account control, epolicy orchestrator, install epo, mcafee, user account control, vista, windows vista
